Tribal Theory plays an upbeat blend of reggae, rock, and ska, with roots in the music of the Pacific islands. The band started in San Diego as a Polynesian dance group, added ukulele and guitar, brought in keyboards and percussion, began performing at barbecues and bonfires, and was soon one of the city’s most popular live acts, winning the Battle of the Bands on the Vans Warped Tour in 2011 and releasing their debut album, Hell of a Night, in 2012.

With Ajay Blount and Seuko Hawkins on lead vocals, Dominic Blas on ukulele and vocals, Nico Tuilesu on drums and vocals, and Paul Bowen on keyboards, the band pumps out high-energy originals with strong dance beats, catchy melodies, and great harmonies. Now and then they’ll cover a classic by one of their inspirations, Bob Marley, John Legend, or Steel Pulse. Whatever they play, you can count on irresistible grooves and big fun!
