Following triumphant appearances at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, Italy's premier bluegrass band makes its Freight debut! Berkeley's own Laurie Lewis and Tom Rozum are on hand to round out what promises to be a memorable evening of bluegrass and beyond. Representing the “high lonesome” in Italy since 1978, Red Wine is one of the oldest (not to mention most charming) bluegrass bands in Europe. With an eclectic, contemporary flavor, their infectious sound embraces traditional and contemporary bluegrass, country, and gospel, with a little swing thrown in for good measure. The foursome–Martino Coppo, (mandolin, guitar), Silvio Ferretti, (vocals, banjo, dobro, guitar), Stefano Cavallo (vocals, bass), and Marco Ferretti (vocals, guitar)–arrives with a new CD under its belt, Winter's Come and Gone.
