Mustered CourageFresh from the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Australia’s Mustered Courage hits the Freight on a hot streak. Great performances at the 2014 International Bluegrass Music Association’s World of Bluegrass Conference propelled them on a three-month tour of America that took them to 43 states. Then they won the 2015 Golden Guitar Award for Instrumental of the Year from Australia’s most prestigious country music association, and now they're back in California. The Music Australia Guide describes the band as “the link between Bill Monroe and Mumford & Sons.”

Like the Avett Brothers and Old Crow Medicine Show, they bridge the gap between traditional bluegrass and modern roots music. With Texan Nick Keeling on banjo, Julian Abrahams on guitar, Paddy Montgomery on mandolin, and Josh Bridges on bass, the high-energy band recently released their second album, Powerlines, which features gorgeous harmonies and glittering instrumental work. For a shot of bluegrass from down under, catch Mustered Courage at the Freight!
