“If a supreme being who equally represents man and woman truly does exist, that voice of God must sound like Mary Fahl,” says the Huffington Post. “Full, deep, dark, mysterious, but one rich, resilient, resounding and capable enough to handle classical rock, folk, pop and Luciano Pavarotti.” The Boston Globe takes a similar view: “Mary Fahl has a voice for the gods.” Why all this invocation of the almighty? It’s because of the voice. Variety has called it “a powerful, beautifully proportioned contralto.” Whatever you call it, and whether you go for God or gods or none of the above, you’ll know it when you hear it – the gorgeous voice of Mary Fahl, powerful, haunting, and full of soul.

Mary, formerly of October Project, grew up in Stony Point, New York, listening to show tunes and British folk. She made two albums with October Project in the mid-1990s, and since then she’s recorded eight solo albums, including her latest studio release, Love and Gravity. Her fans include Anne Rice, who called her voice “supernatural” and asked her to record a song for the audio version of her latest book. Mary currently lives in eastern Pennsylvania in a 17th century house overlooking the Delaware River.

Vermont singer-songwriter Gregory Douglass blends “Rufus Wainwright´s opulent musicality and Justin Timberlake´s accessible soulfulness,” according to Out Magazine. He has released eight studio albums, and his latest EP, Retro Active, Vol. 4, features haunting covers of songs by Brandi Carlisle and Phil Collins. NPR’s Morning Edition has called him “one of New England’s best kept secrets,” but those who know the secret have given him more than 600,000 YouTube views and 100,000 downloads.
