Vocalist Kim Nalley’s musical tribute to Nina Simone is interpersed with historical commentary and unabashed delivery of the most controversial songs of Simone’s repertoire. “She Put a Spell on Me” has enjoyed several sold out runs in San Francisco, New York, Germany and Los Angeles since Dr. Simone’s death and all the reviews have been exuberant. Kim Nalley, nominated as one the 10 most influential African Americans in the Bay Area and a PhD candidate in UC Berkeley's history department, is a must-see in this rare tribute.
