Sing pretty, rhythmic 3- or 4-part arrangements of a cappella American music. Songs offer both easy and challenging parts to accommodate singers at all levels. All adults and kids over 8 -- accompanied by an adult -- are welcome. There are solos for those who want them, and lots of support. No audition, no performance. Just the pleasure of singing in community for 2 fun hours. This popular choral workshop leaves singers glowing.
Betsy Blakeslee has directed choirs that sang at the State of the World Forum, the UN Millenium Summit, and with Kitka. She performed many times with Pete Seeger, and taught singing to refugee kids in Bosnia during the war. She directs World Harmony Chorus in Oakland. Her cool a cappella arrangements provide satisfaction and fun for singers at all levels. Her warmth makes Instant Chorus a wonderful way to spend 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon.
