Finest KindFinest Kind is a Canadian folk trio specializing in timeless classics and innovative originals. Their exquisite harmonies and brilliant vocal arrangements bring fresh excitement to the performance of favorites old and new. “They exude total command from the get-go,” says Living Tradition Magazine. Canadian folk icon David Francey has praised their “soaring, glorious harmonies” and “extraordinary melding of history and song,” and called them “a very remarkable band.”

Ian Robb, originally from London, plays concertina. Ann Downey, who hails from the American Southwest, plays guitar, bass, and banjo. Shelley Posen of Toronto plays guitar. The band has recorded five albums, including their latest, For Honour & for Gain, which features a couple of Copper Family gems, a song by U. Utah Phillips, and “John Barleycorn Deconstructed,” a most clever reinvention of a classic. You can also expect to hear from such bards as Hank Williams and Rudyard Kipling. Don’t miss this night of music of the Finest Kind!
