Gaelic Storm started as a pub band in Santa Monica, California, and has gone on to perform more than 3,000 live shows, appear in the blockbuster movie Titanic, top the Billboard World Music Chart four times, and release 11 albums, including their latest, Matching Sweaters. Their music features sea shanties and drinking songs, traditional tunes and originals, instrumental workouts and vocal showcases.

Carol DenneyCarol is a Berkeley institution. The city's Commission on the Status of Women honored her for civil liberties activism in 2003, and the city honored her again in 2004 for homeless advocacy. She founded “Fiddlers for Peace” and serves as curator of the "Deep Poetry Project" and editor of the Pepper Spray Times. Jack Hirschman, former poet laureate of San Francisco, nominated her to the Revolutionary Poets' Brigade in 2010. Her songwriting is stellar. Her singing is strong.

Local guitarist, teacher, writer, and performer Pete Madsen takes the audience on a trip to “the land where blues began,” presenting the music of Delta musicians like Robert Johnson and Charlie Patton, as well as Piedmont-style players like Blind Blake. Pete uses old photographs and recordings as well as his own expert playing to demonstrate the intricate fingerpicking style and bottleneck slide technique of these early pioneers who have influenced generations of musicians.
