Lucy Kaplansky & Richard ShindellIf you know their solo work, you’re already hooked on the idea of Lucy Kaplansky & Richard Shindell as a duo. Under the name The Pinehill Project, they’ve just recorded an album of duets, Tomorrow You’re Going, that features some of their favorite songs by other artists, from Gillian Welch to Greg Brown, Van Morrison to Nick Lowe.

The DuhksThe Duhks are a Canadian folk band from Winnipeg, Manitoba. They’ve earned a Grammy nomination for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group, and won a Juno award, the Canadian equivalent of the Grammy, for Best Roots and Traditional Album.

Sam BakerSam Baker is a man of few words. He was traveling on a train in Peru in 1986 when a bomb planted by the Shining Path killed seven of his fellow passengers and left him with a long, hard road back to reasonable health. “Life is a gift,” he says. “I went through a lot of bitterness. A lot of anger. But those things are toxic. Gratitude for what remains is more helpful than resentment for what was lost.

Box Set Duo TrioJeff Person and Jim Brunberg first started playing together in the early 1990s at The Owl and the Monkey Café in San Francisco’s Sunset District. Their band, Box Set, recorded seven albums and won Bay Area Music Awards for Best Club Band and Outstanding Americana/Roots Band, and a “Group of the Year” award from the National Academy of Songwriters.
