Swingle SingersThe Swingle Singers have been pushing the boundaries of the human voice for more than half a century. Founded in Paris in 1962, they released their Grammy-winning debut album, Jazz Sébastien Bach in 1963, and ever since the group has been at the forefront of vocal improvisation. The lineup of singers has changed over the years, but they still perform old favorites, and they’ve added new classics as well as fresh originals.

George Kahumoku Jr.George Kahumoku, Jr. has won multiple Grammy awards for his masterful performances on slack key guitar – but he’s not just a world class musician, he’s also an artist and sculptor, storyteller and writer, farmer and entrepreneur, as well as a teacher at his local high school and community college on Maui. Tonight he’ll play and sing at the Freight, mixing Hawaiian classics and contemporary songs with his own captivating originals. Who knows?

Wild Mango 2015Wild Mango is back for a reunion show of the founding members at the Freight! The popular all-woman band features a wealth of Bay Area musical talent from the realms of Latin jazz and world music, including Michaelle Goerlitz on percussion, Jackeline Rago on cuatro, percussion, mandolin, and vocals, Donna Viscuso on flute, saxophone, and harmonica, Jan Martinelli on bass, Susu Pampanin on Middle Eastern percussion, and Erika Luckett on guitar and vocals.
