Check out the future when the West Coast Songwriters presents its monthly Songwriter Competition, where members take the stage and perform their material. Performers sign up from 7:00 to 7:20, and at 7:30 the show’s on! Guest judges award a “Best Song” and “Best Performance.” The most active songwriters’ association in the United States, WCS is dedicated to providing the environment, opportunities, and tools to nurture and promote songwriters.

This free show celebrates the prodigiously talented faculty and students of this year's edition of fiddlekids Summer Camp. Teachers include bluegrass fiddle scorcher Laurie Lewis, swing-jazz fiddle ace Julian Smedley, bluegrass/old time fiddler extraordinaire John Blasquez, fabulous genre-leaper Caroline McCaskey, vivacious dance instructor Evie Ladin, and fiddle wiz and Camp Director Bobbi Shearn Nikles.

Jessica Jones & Mark TaylorNew York-based composer/instrumentalists Jessica Jones and Mark Taylor unleash their musical swiss army knives to create a romping sonic adventure full of energy, creativity, new textures, and good times. Their jazz quartet, combining french horn, mellophone, and tenor saxophone with bass (John Shifflet) and drums (Jason Lewis), plays original experimental music exploring the tension between freedom and structure always present in jazz and improvised music.
