The City of Berkeley will be honoring East Bay Survivors and remembering all who perished in the Shoah.

The ninth annual Holocaust Remembrance Day international theme is "Justice and Accountability in the Face of Genocide: What We Have Learned." The musicians and speakers will utilize the international theme in their presentations. We invite the community to share song, traditional music, verse, and personal stories in commemorating this day.

Nonprofit multiracial choir Vukani Mawethu raise their voices in a 25th anniversary celebration concert benefitting AIDS projects. These "lusty angels who belt out activist messages" (Oakland Magazine) express their love of the rhythms and melodies grown out of centuries of struggles for emancipation in a repertoire including Southern African freedom songs, traditional spirituals, and civil rights anthems.
